It's almost festival time! The Baird Sisters are playing on Saturday, August 16 at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. We'll be doing two sets--one at about 11:00 and another at around 2:00. The Espers are playing Saturday too!

Back in October we got to play at "Live at the Writer's House" at Penn, which later aired on WXPN. After a bit of a nervous start, we played Sugar Babe, and later on in the show, Willie Moore.

'Twas a sad day. Laura's trusty Tascam 246 4-track cassette recorder finally called it quits. (She hasn't given up on it just yet, and is currently keeping her eye out for a replacement belt.)

Laura just put a few songs up on download.com. (here's a link to her page). She just found out about the site a few days ago. It's very cool... so well done and so much great music to share (for free!). When Meg gets back from California maybe we'll get some Baird Sisters stuff up there too.

Meg's on tour with the Espers... with none other than the Incredible String Band. Incredible! She'll be playing in Texas, Arizona, and California before coming back east next week.

How embarrassing. It's been almost a year since our last update. Anyway, it's good to be back. Meg's busy touring around with the Espers and Laura's been just, well, plain lazy. The Baird's will be doing a set at Tritone in Philadelphia May 3. The fabulous Sharron Kraus and St. Joan will be there too. (9:00PM, 5$, 21+)

We hope to see some of you there.

So what are we up to these days? We're still around... writing, playing, and working on other projects (Meg, espers); Laura (Blue Rose Moon Theater Co.)...and getting ready for our summer trip to Old-Time Music Week at the Swannanoa Gathering in Asheville. We'll let you know if we add any shows in the near future. (Would you like to join our mailing list?)
